Vancouver Fashion Week F/W 2016 Day 1
So it has now finally arrived, the much anticipated Vancouver Fashion Week is here and day 1 was the opening gala. Here are some of the highlights and the designs that stood out for me.

People of NordstromVan Vol 1
So as you all might know, I have switched careers and I’m now currently working at Nordstrom Vancouver, specifically at the Men’s Designer department.
This series will be dedicated to featuring the outfits of my co workers and to show the diversity of our styles and influences. I’m doing this in the hopes of opening your eyes and to be able to appreciate them. Hopefully to get you to try and explore from your normal routine of how you would dress yourself.
This post will be twice a week, every Monday and Friday so be sure to regularly check it out!

Is 90’s Fashion Back?
Retro fashion has been on the rise recently and here’s my interpretation of it.
Shirt is from Moschino and the awesome part about it is that it’s REVERSIBLE!
Here’s the reverse side of the shirt
Had to match things up with a Casio G-Shock watch for a even more retro feel.
As for the shoes, can’t go wrong with Converse Allstar Chucks inspired by Superman! The colours of this shoe just blends well with the top!
Damn Danier!!! (Daniel Leather Closing Down)

So after 34 years of being in business, Danier Leather is closing it’s doors, but before that they are doing a massive liquidation sale on all of their stores, outlets and online. This is a sad day for another Canadian owned company. I myself own a few of their leather jackets which is what they are known for. They make good quality products but I guess they just haven’t evolved with the times and the trends.

So if you are in the market for some good quality leather, I would suggest stock up and head to the closest Danier store or online.
My New World
As some of you might know, I’ve switch my career path a while back and I’m now working at Nordstrom specifically at the Men’s Designer department. This has truly been an eye-opener for me as I go deeper into the world of fashion. I have learned to appreciate styles and brands that I never would’ve even dared to look at before.
There’s also a major reason why I haven’t posted anything for a while because my vision of fashion is currently undergoing a major overhaul as I’m learning so many things right now from my new career. I have found myself slowly investing more into designer brands rather than just going through the fast fashion brands (nothing against H&M and Zara, but I’m slowly trying to move away from them and trying to buy actual investment pieces rather than buying just for a special event or a party).
With this being said, I’m going to do a ongoing post like this which would feature photographs of my co-workers’ outfits and myself as well which I think would be interesting for you guys to see.
I will be posting more of these in the future please give me some feedback on what you’d like to see!
Shoe Shine Please!
So here’s the thing, most people either don’t clean their shoes at all and let it die a slow miserable death or they don’t clean their shoes properly. So i’ve teamed up with a shoe shine expert to help you and I do things the right way.
So I’ve asked to help of Harry Sima, a shoe shine expert at Nordstrom Vancouver to give us some pointers on how to do a proper shoe shine. By the way he has his own youtube channel called The Shoe Show so show him some love.
Anyways, without getting any sidetracked, here are the steps!
1) Wipe down the shoe with saddle soap, using a gritty cloth
2) Apply cream to condition the leather
- Don’t be afraid to use a lot
- Spread evenly by hand, cloth, or dauber
- The leather will only take in what it needs
- Brush off the cream with a horse hair brush
3) Apply polish and let the layer sit
- Ideally, the polish should sit for about five minutes
- let it sink in
4) Apply sole dressing
- Don’t get it on the upper
- Go slow
5) Work in the wax with cloth or brush
- The key is to use little dabs of polish and rub in small circular motions
- Use small amounts of water when cloth is dry
6) Buff out the shoe
- Makes them POP!
So here’s the end result!
Basically good as new!
Here are some pro tips on why you should get your shoes shined!
- It prevents leather from drying and cracking
- Extends the life of shoes exponentially
- It looks good and feels good

The Saints have landed
So as some of my followers from Vancouver would know, the new section of Pacific Centre Mall has finally opened. It just so happens that one of my favourite brands has opened and that would be AllSaints! The London-based brand has now opened it’s 2nd store here in Canada and the first one being in Toronto. I love their classic Rock n’ Roll style, it has that bit of edginess in it without looking grungy. In my own words, I would call it “sophisticated streetwear”.
With this being said, for the first time in my blog, i’m doing a one-branded lookbook and I hope you guys would like it!
Just a tip for the guys, if you haven’t tried on a pair of skinny jeans from AllSaints, you’re missing out. You just have to try it for yourselves and see how awesome the cut and feel is. Every guy should have a go-to pair of denims and this one ranks pretty high up there. AllSaints know their stuff when it comes to a pair of skinny jeans. I’d also rock their leather jackets since its actually their main staple product but it’s still a bit hot right now but maybe in my future posts I would do one on it. For now though, I hope you guys like this look!

Foreo Review
Hey guys, so i’m doing my first ever skincare product review.
As we all know, fashion and skincare does go hand-in-hand so I figure I should be including this on my blog. No amount of clothes can make a person complete if they have bad skin or just crazy acne on their face. It’s the total package.
So please be patient as I slowly work my way with trying to create a comprehensive review of skincare products for you guys. I’m no guru but I hope my words will help you out in choosing the right products.
First impressions:
First thing I felt when I held the product on my hands was the super soft silicone bristles/brush this product has. It’s not like your regular brush that is abrasive or hard, its really really soft. The built of it is very solid and doesn’t feel like it will break with one drop. It has a very nice and compact design and very minimalistic. The box comes with a cable that plugs in to a usb port (very convenient since even your computer or laptop can charge it.
Using the product:
Using the product is very simple, there’s only one button to press and that’s it. First button press is to turn it on. It has a built in timer and it will stop vibrating every 15 seconds to notify you that you should switch the area that you are scrubbing. you basically scrub your face for 1 minute. The second press is for the low vibration mode for the more sensitive area of your face such as under your eyes and around your nose. The third press is to turn off the product. Operating and using this product can’t get any simpler!
Pros:
- Waterproof
- Compact (can easily fit on your travel kit)
- Very easy to use (one button operation)
- Gentle on the skin (silicon construction)
- Sturdy built
- You only buy once (no need to buy replaceable brush heads unlike other brands)
- Easy to clean (just put under running water and clean with soap)
Cons:
- The 15 second timer could be executed better, sometimes while i’m scrubbing my face I don’t notice that it had stopped and I would still continue on one area of my face, if the pause was a bit longer I would have noticed it more
- There’s also a notification light and it’s at the bottom to notify you that it’s been 15 seconds, but when I use the scrub my eyes are usually closed since i’m at the shower (waste of space for the product)
- The plug for the charger could’ve been universal like a micro usb connection so I could use other cables to charge it instead of a proprietary plug. (But I guess micro usb plug isn’t waterproof that’s why they had to do a different plug, but i’m just nitpicking here)
Personal Notes:
I really like this product, being as a guy, it’s a extra gadget for me to use and guys love gadgets (haha). It’s a good investment as in, I just have to buy it once and I don’t need to buy any other accessories for it to continuously use it, I just buy it once and I can use it until the battery stops recharging, but at the rate of 300 uses per charge, i’m guessing this will last me for many many many years. It’s very compact and durable and I can just chuck it at any pocket in my bag when I travel and not worry about it at all. Father’s day is coming up very soon and I truly thing this would make a great Father’s day gift for those people who don’t know what to get for their father!
